Hollyoaks spoilers follow.
Hollyoaks' Summer Ranger is set to make a dramatic return to the show in next week's scenes, resulting in life-threatening consequences.
Last month, Summer, Sienna and Brody's story came to a head in some sinister scenes after Summer (Rhiannon Clements) decided to kill Sienna (Anna Passey) to get her revenge on Brody Hudson (Adam Woodward) once and for all.
Sienna's sister Liberty Savage saved the day by shooting Summer, but despite the injury, Summer managed to get away – though Sienna wasn't convinced that Summer was gone for good.
Next week, Hollyoaks revisits the storyline as Sienna hears the shocking news that Summer's body may have been found and musters up the courage to go to the hospital to identify the body.
Despite Sienna insisting she could go to the hospital alone, Liberty ends up telling Brody about this latest development and Brody goes with Sienna as support, with both hoping that this is the moment they will finally be free of Summer.
After viewing the body, however, they realise that it's not Summer after all, and Brody soon shifts his anger towards Sienna.
Later, Leah Barnes tries to get her revenge on Liberty by telling dad Ste that she spotted Summer at school. Before long, the police are notified about the Summer 'sighting' and a bickering Brody and Sienna are forced to spend time together in a safe house.
Stuck together, Brody and Sienna end up sharing a heart-to-heart and it looks like they could rekindle their relationship once again. Unbeknown to the happy couple, however, Summer is lurking in the shadows ready to threaten their happy ending once again.
Later, Brody and Sienna are given the green light to return home, but things go awry after Summer confronts Sienna with a gun.
With Summer holding Sienna at gunpoint on a cliff edge, Brody pleads with Summer, asking her to spare Sienna's life.
With emotions running high, Brody ends up offering Summer a proposition.
In tense scenes, Brody goes to extreme lengths in a bid to protect Sienna, but Summer goes back on her word and there are life-threatening consequences.
Afterwards, the villagers try to come to terms with everything that's happened as they're left considering the life-altering events that took place.
While one resident goes to extreme lengths to ensure that justice is served, another struggles to cope with their mounting guilt over what happened.
Will life in Hollyoaks ever be the same again?
Hollyoaks airs these scenes on Thursday, September 12 at 6.30pm on Channel 4.
