Hollyoaks spoilers follow.
Theresa McQueen has revealed a dark secret in the latest blackmail twist in Hollyoaks.
The McQueen family are under threat from a mysterious blackmailer, who viewers know is actually serial killer Silas Blissett (Jeff Rawle) working with an accomplice.
In Monday's (November 2) first-look episode, Theresa (Jorgie Porter) tried to take matters into her own hands by promising to stop the blackmailer once and for all.
Theresa took this step because she felt awful about the blackmail coinciding with the anniversary of Mercedes (Jennifer Metcalfe) losing her son Gabriel.
However, Theresa wasn't quite up to the task of taking down the maniacal stalker, after realising that the latest of the Seven Dead Sins — greed — was meant for her.
"I've done something I'm not proud of," she confessed to John Paul. "I've made a mistake, and if it gets out, I'm in for it."
After John Paul explained that he didn't have the money to pay off the blackmailer, Theresa finally revealed that she'd been "an escort" while away from the village.
John Paul assured her working as an escort wasn't a massive taboo, but Theresa insisted: "It was more criminal than that! The clock's ticking. If we don't beat the deadline, then I'm going to prison!"
In the post-credits sequence, Theresa was shown bagging up the creepy doll and saying it was "coming with me". What has Theresa done?
Hollyoaks currently airs new episodes from Mondays to Thursdays at 6.30pm on Channel 4, with first look screenings at 7pm on E4. Classic episodes, titled Hollyoaks Favourites, air on Fridays at 7pm on E4.
