Hollyoaks' Verity lies about pregnancy in Diane twist
Hollyoaks spoilers follow.
Verity Hutchinson has lied about being pregnant in Hollyoaks.
The lawyer has been backed into an impossible situation, after agreeing to hide sister-in-law Diane's secret pregnancy. She paid the price when Tony got confused after finding a pregnancy test, and assumed Verity was actually pregnant.
Verity (Eva O'Hara) was in the hot seat from the beginning of Thursday's (January 21) first-look episode, as Sami (Rishi Nair) asked her "seriously" whether he was really going to be a dad.

With Diane (Alex Fletcher) desperately looking on a few steps away, conflicted Verity felt she had no choice but to answer: "Yeah."
Once Tony and Diane made their exits, a clearly shaken Sami tried to assure Verity that it's "all going to be fine" as she admitted that she needs him following her father's death.
Yet, he still made up an excuse to get back to work. Verity went to confront Diane over putting her in such a terrible position.
"My father's dead. Kurt's fleeced me. I mean, my life… if I don't have Sami, I don't have anything," she angrily insisted.

Tony interrupted to apologise for "spilling the beans" and ask how Sami's taken the news, but Verity shocked her brother by admitting: "I don't even know if he wants me anymore."
Tony set off to find Sami, so he could try to set right what he'd done earlier. When Sami admitted he was "terrified" of being a dad, Tony explained how fatherhood will come naturally.
"[Kids] make your heart bigger. You become big enough or smart enough or fun enough to be their dad, and it just sort of works," he explained.
But he added: "Mind you, if Diane told me she was having another, I'd probably drop down dead."

Sami returned to Verity's flat and interrupted her just as she was about to confess the truth about the pregnancy situation.
"I know you have an IQ of 150, and a bullet-proof blaser, but right now you're grieving," he acknowledged. "And I will take care of you. I can't believe I'm going to be a dad!"
When will the truth come out?
