Hollyoaks' Warren and Maxine hit the rocks after heist discovery

Hollyoaks spoilers to follow.

Tensions are set to rise between Hollyoaks' Warren Fox and Maxine Minniver, after she makes a shocking discovery.

Just a few weeks ago, the pair appeared to rekindle their romance, as Warren (Jamie Lomas) tried to stop Maxine (Nikki Sanderson) from going to the police about the hit-and-run she was a victim of.

Desperate to keep his, Brad and Felix's involvement in the botched heist job that led to the accident under wraps – particularly because he'd been the one caught on the CCTV – Warren managed to distract Maxine by promising to protect her and the former couple wound up sleeping together.

Later, Maxine found a scary-looking clown mask in one of Warren's kitchen drawers which, unknown to her, he had used in the burglary. She did recognise it, however, as the same disguise the menacing, mystery figure who'd "told" her to keep quiet upon her discharge from hospital was wearing.

In scenes set to air from Monday (May 10), Warren will be seen continuing to try to convince Maxine to drop her idea of going to the cops, which starts to make her feel like a cheap one-night stand.

Maxine learns something that indicates Warren has been lying to her for weeks though, which causes her to wash her hands of him.

Elsewhere, Maxine's mother Trish tries to make sure their relationship is over for good when she insists to Warren that he's better off without her daughter. But Trish's plan backfires as Maxine overhears the conversation, and is touched by Warren's defense of her and subsequent declaration of love.

Will she give him a second chance?

Elsewhere, Warren is set for a showdown with Sienna Blake (Anna Passey) over custody of the kids.

Hollyoaks airs these scenes in the week commencing Monday, May 10 at 6.30pm on Channel 4.
