Yahoo News Hollyoaks to welcome Haiesha Mistry as newbie Yasmine
Hollyoaks has announced that television newcomer Haiesha Mistry will be joining the cast as schoolgirl Yasmine.
Yasmine will cause a stir when she arrives at Hollyoaks High and immediately clashes with Peri Lomax by posting about her family dramas online.
However, Yasmine gets more than she bargained for when Peri decides to play her at her own game – leaving viewers to wonder if this is the beginning of a brand new feud.
Haiesha will be making her TV debut in Hollyoaks ,with her previous acting background coming in the form of Climate of Fear, Mr and Mrs Khan, Michael Rosen's Bear Hunt Chocolate Cake and Bad Things Interactive Experience.
Speaking about her new role, Haiesha said, "I'm so excited to be joining Hollyoaks as this is my first television credit. I'm looking forward to portraying my new character Yasmine (or Yas to her mates) as she is loud and flamboyant.
"She swaggers through school acting like the coolest of the cool kids – but it's all just bravado. I also love working alongside side the amazing cast and crew at Hollyoaks."
Haiesha will first appear on screens at the beginning of April.
Hollyoaks airs weeknights at 6.30pm on Channel 4, with first-look screenings at 7pm on E4.
