Home and Away to air Colby Thorne's murder trial

From Digital Spy

Home and Away spoilers follow for UK viewers.

Home and Away killer Colby Thorne finally has to face the music on UK screens next week as his trial goes badly wrong for him.

Colby (Tim Franklin) has been arrested and charged with the murder of Ross Nixon after Angelo Rosetta finally gathered together enough evidence to bring him to justice.

In next week's episodes on Channel 5, Colby's trial begins and Angelo (Luke Jacobz) takes great pleasure in testifying against his nemesis.

Colby is still hopeful that the case could go his way, but he's left shellshocked when the prosecution plays a damning audio recording that features him confessing to Ross' murder.

All becomes clear to Colby when the mysterious Witness X is called to testify and his betrayer turns out to be Willow Harris (Sarah Roberts) – one of his closest friends.

Willow has been secretly working with Angelo in recent days and has teamed up with him by wearing a recording device when Colby was talking about the murder.

Inside the courtroom, Willow also testifies against Colby and confirms to everyone that he murdered Ross.

While giving evidence, Willow carefully spins the story to remove any reference to Bella (Courtney Miller) or Dean (Patrick O'Connor) being involved in the cover-up.

Dean is still outraged by Willow's betrayal and gets himself kicked out of the courtroom for standing up and making a scene.

As Colby realises the game is up, he makes the tough decision to testify himself and confesses that he's guilty of the murder.

The disgraced policeman's worst fears become a reality as he's sentenced to 25 years imprisonment and is hauled off to start his new life behind bars.

Back in the Bay, Willow defends her actions to Bella and Dean, who worry that Colby will become a target for violence – or worse – behind bars. Is Colby's life in danger?
