Yahoo News Home and Away airs sinister finale cliffhanger

Home and Away has left fans worrying over the fates of three characters after airing its final episode of the year in Australia.
The show is now taking its annual break in its home country, but followed tradition by leaving viewers with a huge end-of-year cliffhanger.
2018's season finale episode featured the heartwarming wedding of Colby Thorne (Tim Franklin) and Chelsea Campbell (Ashleigh Brewer), who became engaged for the second time earlier this year.
The nuptials followed an eventful few weeks for Colby, who had finally been reunited with his missing sister Bella after years apart.
Earlier this year, Colby confided in Jasmine Delaney about how his younger sister and his mother were both abducted by his abusive stepfather Ross Nixon. Colby joined the police force in the hope that he could track them down.
Recent episodes in Australia have seen Colby's dreams come true as he was reunited with Bella, but it seems that Ross can't be shaken off too easily.
In the closing moments of the 2018 finale, Colby's new wife Chelsea headed into a huge limo with Bella and Willow Harris a few hours after the wedding.
Just as the trio were about to sit back and relax in the luxurious vehicle, they were horrified to realise that a gun-wielding Ross was the driver.
After locking them inside and forcing them to hand over their phones, Ross drove off with unknown intentions. Will Colby and his best friend Dean be able to come to the rescue in 2019, or is there tragedy ahead?
Home and Away's return date in Australia has yet to be revealed, but we know it'll be back on Channel 5 from Monday, January 7. The season finale episode will air in the UK in March.
