Home and Away couple John Palmer and Marilyn Chambers are facing a new crisis in this week's Australian episodes.

The popular pair are spending most of their time apart following Jett James's big decision to get his own apartment away in the city.

Recent episodes in Australia have seen Jett (Will McDonald) say an emotional goodbye to Summer Bay, wanting a chance to be more independent after the life-changing injuries he suffered while away in the army.

Since Jett's departure, John (Shane Withington) has been spending much of his time in the city to help him settle into his new place.

Unfortunately, this has led to Marilyn (Emily Symons) feeling lonely without him and has also caused problems at the Surf Club, which is struggling without a regular manager.

Tuesday's episode (June 18) on Channel 7, which broadcasts Home and Away in Australia, saw John clash with both Alf Stewart and Ryder Jackson over the extra workload they're facing now that he's hardly ever around.

No-nonsense Alf even threatened to have John replaced at the Surf Club if he doesn't make it more of a priority as soon as possible.

When John later complained about this to Marilyn, she gave him some harsh home truths in response.

Amid fears that John is struggling to step back and give Jett the freedom he needs, Marilyn accused him of being selfish with his recent trips away. Can John and Marilyn find a way forward?

Elsewhere in Summer Bay, Mason Morgan backed out of a reckless plan to buy another batch of marijuana and produce more CBD oil for his sister Raffy Morrison, who's struggling to manage her epilepsy symptoms.

Fortunately, some good news followed as Raffy was finally accepted onto a medical trial, allowing her to receive the help she needs without Mason having to break the law again.

Home and Away fans in the UK will see these scenes on Channel 5 on July 18.

Home and Away airs weekdays at 1.15pm and 6pm on Channel 5 (UK) and Mondays to Thursdays at 7pm on Channel 7 (Australia).
