Home and Away to explore Kirby's past as secret is revealed

Home and Away spoilers follow.

Home and Away reveals new details from Kirby Aramoana's backstory on UK screens next week, as she opens up to Mackenzie Booth.

Kirby confides in Mac about her secret passion for surfing, which is something she hasn't previously shared with any of her new friends in Summer Bay.

The revelation comes as tensions escalate between Kirby and her ex-boyfriend Theo Poulos, who still work together as bandmates in Lyrik.

Justin Morgan reclaims his duties as Lyrik's manager, having taken a back seat in recent weeks while dealing with Andrew Lawrence's issues.

Justin praises Kirby's work in overseeing the group while he was busy, but he also accuses her of unfairly giving Theo most of the publicity commitments as a punishment following their split.

Kirby doesn't react well to this criticism and points out that it's natural for Theo to take centre stage in promotional opportunities as he's the band's frontman.

When Theo's aunt Leah Patterson hears that the conversation didn't go well, she steps in and tries to broker peace. However, Kirby feels patronised by Leah and the situation is left in an even worse state.

Things come to a head when Kirby vows to quit her job at the Diner, not wanting to work alongside Leah anymore.

She also makes it clear to Theo and Justin that any friendships between them are over, so they'll have purely professional relationships from now on.

As Kirby seeks an escape from her stresses, she heads to the beach and tells Mac that she used to be a strong surfer. Her confidence was knocked when she once found herself in danger in the water, so she abandoned her passion.

Following encouragement from Mac, an apprehensive Kirby decides to face her fear and returns to the water – with her supportive friend watching nearby as a precaution.

The plan works, as Kirby conquers her anxiety and has a great time out in the water.

Theo is pleased to see Kirby enjoying herself, but he also questions why she never mentioned her talent when they were a couple, especially in light of his own surfing hobby. Could another row flare up if Theo takes it personally and accuses Kirby of keeping secrets?
