Home and Away spoilers follow for UK and Australian readers.
Home and Away newcomer Sam Barrett has discussed joining the Summer Bay soap, revealing that it was one of her career goals.
The star will play Chloe Anderson, with the character's mother Mia (Anna Samson) also set to be introduced. Speaking to Perth Now, Sam shared that Chloe wasn't the first role on the show she auditioned for – it was her fifth.
"I'd actually auditioned for Home and Away [before]. This role, it was the fifth character I'd auditioned for," she said.
"My first day on set didn't even feel real, it felt a bit like a dream.
"I learn a lot every day from everyone and from the crew as well. That's my favourite part about working on the show. Everyone's always willing to help you as a new actor."
Sam added elsewhere in the interview: "It was a goal of mine to be on the show.
"So many people do start out on the show, and there's definitely people that I'm a fan of their work."
Chloe is introduced after running into her old friend Nikau Parata in New Zealand. She accompanies him back to Summer Bay, wanting to catch up with Ari, who used to be a father figure in her life.
Chloe and Mia's first scenes next week in Australia and in early March on Channel 5 in the UK.
Home and Away airs weekdays at 1.15pm and 6pm on Channel 5 (UK) and Mondays to Thursdays at 7pm on Channel 7 (Australia).
