Home and Away star hints at music career move after Mason Morgan's exit

Home and Away star Orpheus Pledger has hinted at a potential career change following his exit as Mason Morgan.

Pledger left the Summer Bay soap in the 2019 season finale (which aired in the UK earlier this year) after four years, but speaking to Daily Mail Australia, he explained that he has been using his time during lockdown in Melbourne working on his music.

"There will be singing involved, but I've been mainly producing music," he said. "I'm inspired by all the great eras of music over the years."

Although music appears to be a big part of his life, Pledger added that he wouldn't rule out further acting roles.

Fans of Home and Away saw Mason devastatingly lose his life after gunmen took over the hospital and took several characters hostage. With Bella Nixon's life at risk, he confronted the gang and ended up being shot dead.

At the time, Pledger said that his exit was a "joint decision".

"It was a creative decision because it benefits the show the most at this time. And it gave me a bit of time to prepare for a lot of things as well, so there was no stress," he commented in late 2019.

"It's not a sad thing. It's a really good thing. I appreciate the show, and let's move on."

Home and Away airs weekdays at 1.15pm and 6pm on Channel 5 (UK) and Mondays to Thursdays at 7pm on Channel 7 (Australia).
