Home and Away star Juliet Godwin has spoken about a big twist ahead for her character Dr Bree Cameron.

Joining the show just last year, Godwin's time on the soap began with an issue-based storyline which saw her being abused by her husband Jacob. When the abuse escalated, Jacob kidnapped Bree who killed her husband in self-defence as he dug a shallow grave.

During this time, Bree became romantically involved with Remi Carter in an on-again-off-again relationship.

Speaking to 7NEWS, Godwin teased fans about what's ahead for Bree and Remi, saying that there is a "fun little twist to come" after all of the heartache.

"I can't give too much away, I mean the drama is real," she said. "It's going to be pretty cool to watch Remi and Bree navigate this new little relationship they have going."

While we don't know the specifics of the "twist" Juliet is describing, viewers recently discovered that Bree is pregnant. In scenes that aired in the UK last week, Bree struggled to break this news to Remi.

Unaware if the father of her baby is Jacob or Remi, Bree feared that by telling Remi she would have to explain to him that she was forced to sleep with Jacob during her kidnapping.

The emotional story forms part of "two blockbuster weeks of event storylines" which are airing this month to mark Home and Away's 8,000th episode. Viewers in the UK will see the blockbuster fortnight from Monday, May 15, while Australian viewers have already seen the special episode.

Elsewhere in the milestone episode, Tane Parata and Felicity Newman finally get married, and there's danger ahead for Xander Delaney.

Home and Away airs weekdays at 1.45pm on Channel 5 and 6pm on 5STAR. First-look screenings air at 6.30pm on 5STAR and the show also streams on My5.

In Australia, the show airs Mondays to Thursdays at 7pm on Channel 7 and streams on 7plus.

Selected classic episodes are available via Prime Video in the UK.
