Yahoo News Home & Away star talks Marilyn and John's "very sad" split
Marilyn Chambers and John Palmer's relationship is over in Home and Away, but what does actress Emily Symons think of it all?
Kicking back with Inside Soap recently, Emily, who plays Marilyn, reflected on the couple's "very sad" break-up.
"It's really hard to play because their marriage came from such a joyous place in the beginning; they had a lovely friendship, then they formed a lovely relationship," she said.

"But there's been a lot of trauma in their lives over the past few years and it's just ended up at a very sad, lonely ending."
Emily suggested her character has been "pretending she can soldier on forever", but it's not until John "tells her to leave that she can finally leave".
As for where Marilyn will end up next, it's almost a question of pride.

"Roo and Mr Stewart say: "Come and stay with us!" But Marilyn is proud and doesn't want to impose on her friends – she doesn't want anyone to worry about her," Emily added.
"I don't think she's thought about what the next step would be, which is making a new life for herself as a middle-age woman. It's daunting for her."
Home and Away airs weekdays at 1.15pm and 6pm on Channel 5 (UK) and Monday to Thursday at 7pm on Channel 7 (Australia).
