Home and Away spoilers follow for UK viewers.
Home and Away's Felicity Newman will be put firmly in the frame for the chemical attack on Tane Parata in scenes airing on UK screens next week, as Tane lies in hospital in a critical condition.
When the soap returns to Channel 5 next week after a six-week festive break, viewers will see the aftermath of the dangerous attack on Tane (Ethan Browne), after he unknowingly drank a spiked sports drink before being sprayed with a toxic substance. It then began to seep into the air vents, being released into the mental health fundraiser event at Salt.
When Tane is discovered in the gym in a critical condition, Cash Newman (Nicholas Cartwright) notices that a rose was left on Tane's chest by his attacker and, remembering that Tane's mystery stalker has been sending him roses in recent weeks, Cash begins to worry about his sister Felicity (Jacqui Purvis), who has been the prime suspect for Tane's stalker.
Over at the hospital, Cash watches on as Tane is being resuscitated, while other Summer Bay residents are also struggling after being caught up in the attack. Thinking over everything his sister has said to him recently, he questions whether Felicity could really have done such an awful thing.
Despite it being the middle of the night, Cash takes the first opportunity to slip away and visit Felicity in her caravan. After being woken up, a sleepy Felicity wonders why Cash is there and teases him for wearing scrubs. Cash's mind is put slightly at ease by the fact that she seemingly knows nothing about what has happened to Tane.
The next morning, Felicity shows up at the Surf Club to discover the crime scene and wants to know what's going on, soon realising that her brother suspects that she had something to do with it.
When Mackenzie Booth (Emily Weir) gives Cash the guest list for the fundraiser, she hints that it places Felicity in the prime suspect position, but Cash gives nothing away.
Later in the week, Felicity asks Cash and his girlfriend Jasmine Delaney (Sam Frost) how Tane is doing, setting alarm bells ringing for Cash, who questions why she would be interested. Although she explains that she just feels bad for Tane, Cash makes her promise that she won't go anywhere near the hospital.
Later on, Jasmine and Felicity see Federal Police in action at the Surf Club and Cash explains that the chemical attack is being investigated in case it needs to be treated as a terror plot. The Summer Bay residents are rattled by the incident and Felicity feels that she just wants to disappear.
Felicity and Jasmine head back to Felicity's caravan with a takeaway and Felicity tells Jasmine that she was actually with a friend at the time that the attack took place.
However, when Jasmine goes to use Felicity's bin, she finds a receipt for chemicals in her van and her concern escalates, as she starts to wonder whether Felicity really was involved in the attack.
Jasmine later shows Cash the receipt and his worst fears are realised, as Jasmine realises that Cash believes that Felicity might be responsible for the attack.
Cash and Jasmine catch up with Felicity at Salt and Cash gives her the receipt that Jasmine found. Felicity denies having any knowledge of it, but Cash and Jasmine are both sceptical, considering it was found in her van.
With Felicity insistent that she is innocent, will anybody believe her?
Home and Away airs these scenes on Friday, January 7 at 1.15pm on Channel 5 and 6pm on 5STAR. Selected classic episodes are available via Amazon Prime Video in the UK.
