Home and Away spoilers follow.
Justin Morgan has dark times ahead of him in Home and Away, when a surprise diagnosis turns his world upside down.
Australian viewers will have already seen the mechanic (portrayed by James Stewart) feeling disorientated in recent times, but during scenes set to air this week, he'll be rushed to hospital when he collapses on the job.
Justin has been working directly with toxic acid, which gets knocked over and pools around him following his collapse.
Speaking to TV Week, the actor explained: "Initially, Justin didn't think there was anything wrong. He was just tired and run down.
"He's been working on a car with a lot of rust and he has to use a special liquid that's hazardous – if you inhale it or get it on you, it can burn the skin. Justin is pouring some out of a big jerry can when he has a spasm and collapses.
"Needless to say, things aren't looking very good for him."
What is originally thought to be a reaction to the chemicals turns out to be something far more sinister.
James added: "Justin's life is in danger at this moment because of the mystery.
"We don't know what caused him to collapse and how quickly his health is deteriorating."
Home and Away airs weekdays at 1.15pm and 6pm on Channel 5 (UK) and Mondays to Thursdays at 7pm on Channel 7 (Australia).
