Home and Away's Parata family receive some tragic news about Ari on UK screens next week.
Ari has been absent from the show in recent weeks as he was sent to jail after making a false confession to Matthew Montgomery's murder.
The popular character made this major sacrifice to protect his fiancée Mia Anderson and her daughter Chloe.
In next week's episodes on Channel 5, Mia continues making plans for a wedding to Ari – even if the ceremony must take place in prison.

Mia is stopped in her tracks when she receives a distressing call from the jail, explaining that Ari has been taken to hospital.
When Mia rushes there to find out more, she spots Ari on a stretcher with severe abdominal pains.
Mia is initially banned from getting close to Ari without clearance from the prison. Ari's brother Tane and nephew Nikau soon join her at the hospital and anxiously await permission to see him.
Once the Parata family are granted clearance to join Ari at his bedside, doctor Logan Bennett diagnoses him with appendicitis.

Ari is told that his appendix will have to be removed and he's soon taken down for surgery.
Later, Logan returns to the Paratas with the upsetting news that Ari was misdiagnosed.
Ari's time in surgery has revealed that he has cancer of the appendix and tumours in his abdomen.
Logan explains that there isn't much the hospital can do to help Ari. The only possible option is an extreme surgical procedure where all tumours are removed.

This would give Ari some extra time, but the tumours would eventually return.
Logan leaves the Parata family to discuss the options as they struggle to process the awful news.
Home and Away airs these scenes on Thursday, April 7 and Friday, April 8 at 1.15pm on Channel 5 and 6pm on 5STAR. First look screenings air at 6.30pm on 5STAR and the show also streams on My5.
