Home and Away's Tane advises Mackenzie in pregnancy storyline

Home and Away spoilers follow for UK viewers.

Home and Away's Tane Parata urges secrecy on UK screens next week, as Mackenzie Booth remains unsure of what to do about her pregnancy.

Tane (Ethan Browne) finds himself in an awkward situation as he discovers that Mac is expecting his brother's baby.

While Ari remains in a coma following his hit and run incident, Mac (Emily Weir) feels all alone as she doesn't know whether to keep their child or not. The couple had broken up shortly before Ari was run over by gangster Paul.

When Mac later receives news that Ari (Rob Kipa-Williams) has woken up from his coma, it's overwhelming for her and she bursts into tears. It's at this moment that Tane questions Mac's emotional response and guesses that she's pregnant.

As Tane is brought fully up to speed over the situation, he's initially unhappy to learn that Ziggy Astoni, Dean Thompson and himself all know about the pregnancy when Ari doesn't.

Tane thinks that Ari deserves to know the truth and joins the others in pushing Mac to seek out his support.

Later, however, Tane changes his mind after time to think over the implications.

Tane tells Mac that, if she doesn't intend to go ahead with the pregnancy, it might be best that Ari never finds out about it.

Tane explains that Ari's ex-partner Mia Anderson (Anna Samson) suffered several miscarriages when they were together years ago.

He also tells the story of how they later welcomed a baby boy, who only survived for a few days.

Ari spiralled out of control after this tragedy and was in prison within a year.

Tane doesn't think that Ari would be able to cope with news of the termination, so suggests keeping him out of it. Will Mac agree that it's for the best?

Home and Away airs these scenes on Friday, April 23 at 1.15pm and 6pm on Channel 5.
