Home From Home: Everything you need to know about the BBC One comedy starring Johnny Vegas and Emilia Fox

Comedian Johnny Vegas is back on television tonight with his new comedy Home From Home, swapping the sunny shores of Benidorm for the Lake District, after a successful pilot in 2016.

Many years after his eventful stays at the Solana Hotel in Benidorm, Vegas is once again making himself at home somewhere else as his character finally realises his dream of a property in the idyllic lakes.

However, things soon turn grey for his character and his wife as they meet the other residents.

What is Home From Home?

In the new six-part comedy, Vegas’ character Neil Hackett and his wife Fiona (played by Niky Wardley) finally manage to buy a lodge in Lake View Holiday Park in the Lake District.

Having worked so hard for their little piece of happiness, their place means the world to them and they want to enjoy their home from home.

However, their plans are thwarted and attitudes soon tested when they meet their neighbours, who appear effortlessly superior.

Who else is in the cast?

Doctor Foster star Adam James and Silent Witness lead Emilia Fox play the outdoorsy neighbours The Dillons.

Elaine Paige –yes, the musical theatre legend – is Vegas’ character Neil’s wild mum Mercy while Strictly Come Dancing and radio star Susan Calman is also a part of the programme.

The Hackett’s also have two children, Garth and Little Neil, played by Oscar Kennedy and Harvey Chaisty.

When does it air?

The series will air weekly at 9.30pm on BBC One, starting Friday 20 April.
