Home 'in need of modernisation' snapped up before it had chance to go to auction
A Leicestershire home that needed modernisation has been snapped up before it got chance to go to auction. The “large” plot in Rookery Lane, Thurmaston, had planning permission to convert the garage into a detached bungalow, but this has now lapsed.
SDL Auctions said the three bedroom home required “modernisation” but that it offered “scope for extension”. Planning permission was granted in 2007 for the conversion of the garage into a two-bed bungalow, which included “associated gardens” and parking.
Alternatively, SDL said the property could be turned into a “wonderful family home” with large gardens and a quadruple garage. The auctioneers said the property was “well placed for a host of local amenities” and had “excellent” transport links nearby.

The property was due to go up for auction yesterday (Thursday, November 21). The guide price was listed as £180,000 plus fees.
