Your home is my prison: the precarious situation of domestic workers in Spain

Spain has more domestic service workers than any other European country, as many as 700,000. Nearly a third of these cleaners and home helpers live below the poverty line, according to a study by Oxfam Intermon. Some of them earn as little as 16 euros a day. Many are from Latin America and work on the black market because they don't have working papers and their qualifications aren't recognised. They suffer many kinds of abuse, which the pandemic has only worsened. Our correspondents in Spain report.
