Homeless man repeatedly kicked in 'senseless attack' on London street

Police have released footage of a homeless man being repeatedly kicked in a "violent and senseless attack" in a central London street.

The attacker, who appears to be a male, was queueing outside a sandwich shop in Fleet Street when he targeted the victim, who was sitting on the ground nearby.

CCTV footage shows him kicking the homeless man twice, knocking him onto his back, before apparently saying something to him and kicking him again.

City of London Police said the attack took place outside Dilieto Sandwich Bar at 12.20pm on 28 March.

“This was a violent and senseless attack on a vulnerable person," said constable Sam Lowe.

He added: “The attacker was queueing up outside the sandwich shop along with many other people.

“We would urge anyone with information about the person who committed this vicious attack, or anyone who witnessed the incident, to contact us.”
