Homeopathy Never Works - And Can Damage Your Health, Scientists Say

Homeopathy is a controversial ‘alternative’ treatment - on which the NHS currently spends an estimated £4 million per year.

But there’s just one problem, a new video from the American Chemical Society explains - it doesn’t work, at all.

Homeopathy is based on the idea that ‘like cures like’, so patients are treated with extremely small amounts of substances such as pollen.

But critics say that there is little proof the treatments are effective - and that the pills are so diluted that users are basically consuming sugar (used to bulk the pills) and little else.

In fact, scientists say, the remedies can actually endanger lives. The ACS says, ‘At best, they’re a harmless waste of money, but at worst they might endanger people’s health, by encouraging them to skip treatments they need.’

In a new video, the ACS explains why the dilution principle means that homeopathic remedies can’t ever work.

The ACS says,’When homeopathy was invented, the concept of atoms and molecules hadn’t been developed - so people couldn’t know that you could dilute something until it was gone.

‘There is zero chance of finding a single molecule in your vial. You’ve diluted it so many times there really isn’t anything left.

‘Homeopaths also claim that water can somehow ‘remember’ what has dissolved in it

‘To date, there has been no evidence of this phenomenon - which violates some deeply held principles of physical science.

‘The foundational concepts of homeopathy are bunk.’
