Man Checks Mail Outside Flooded Home in Townsville

As flooding continued to batter communities in Townsville, Queensland, some locals were to determined to see the humour in their dire situation.

In this video, filmed by local woman Tenneil Graham on Febraury 2, one man braves the floodwater to check the mail box.

“Nup nothing there,” he says jokingly.

Homes in Townsville, Queensland, were evacuated on the weekend of February 2-3. Rescue crews knocked on the doors of homes in the Hermit Park area of the town, as waters continued to rise.

Graham told Storyful that due to the high tide, water levels rose by up to two meters on the morning of February 3.
