Hooded thieves caught on CCTV stealing family's £12k jet-ski from home

Two brazen thieves wheeled away a family’s £12,000 jet-ski which was stored behind their house.

CCTV footage shows two hooded men ripping apart a fence protecting the bright green jet-ski on a path behind gardens in Eversley Avenue in Bexley.

Careful to cover their faces, they disappear out of shot before they are seen dragging the jet-ski to the road where they hook it onto a getaway vehicle.

Neighbours said they spotted a black car towing the Sea-Doo GTI craft, which can travel at up to 60mph on the water, after it was stolen on Tuesday at 3.30pm.Owner Mike Savage fears the thieves will try to sell it before they are caught.

The lift mechanic, 37, said: “They are scumbags. I’m gutted. My daughter loved to ride it. I’ve had three other jet-skis but it was absolutely pukka to ride that one. We used to take it around the Sheppey Crossing and Herne Bay.”

Mr Savage, a father of three, added: “It would mean a lot for me to get it back but the police haven’t even been round to pick up the CCTV yet.”

His daughter Jade added: “It was absolutely the most fun to ride. It was wicked. I hope we get it back soon. My dad has spent many hard working hours to save up and he would take it on our family days out. The thieves are jealous, disgusting people.”

Mr Savage said he hopes people might recognise the distinctive craft if the thieves do try and offload it.

A Met spokesman said police were called to the property at 3.30pm on Tuesday to reports of a theft. They said inquiries continue and that no arrests have been made.
