'Horrendous' smell of gas in Coatbridge industrial estate triggers emergency response
Emergency services raced to a Scots street on Thursday night after a strong smell of gas sparked fears of a third chemical leak at the site.
Residents of Burnbank Street complained of a "horrendous" smell of gas coming from Northburn Industrial Estate.
Multiple fire crews and police were alerted to the scene at Cameron Street shortly after 11pm.
Scottish Fire and Rescue said today there were no casualties and the area was made safe.
It's the third time emergency services have been called to the industrial estate in just over two weeks.
A chemical spill locked down Cameron Street on November 14 and on November 5, four people were treated by paramedics following an evacuation.
Locals hit out over the "horrendous" smell on Thursday night.
