Horror as boys spotted playing on Bedworth ice pool hours after pair rescued
Horrified motorists spotted two boys playing on an iced-over-pond in Bedworth. They were left staggered at the sight on Smorrall Lane pond yesterday morning (January 12).
Two boys were playing at the side with one of them standing on the edge of the ice. The concerned passers-by raised with the alarm with the police.
This is because, less than 24 hours earlier, two dog walkers had to be rescued. They had attempted to save their pets who were in the water.

Firefighters had to rescue the pair during what was a huge emergency services operation. The man and the woman, who have not been identified, were left with hypothermia.
Warwickshire Police confirmed to CoventryLive that it received reports about the two young males yesterday morning. Officers did attend the scene.
"We can confirm we were called in relation to two young males playing on the side of Smorrall Lane pond at 10:35 on Sunday," a force spokesperson said.
"On attendance at 11am, no one was seen near the water."
Local firefighters had already issued a plea for people to stay away from the iced-over pool as well as other open spaces across the borough following the incident with the pet owners.
