Horror as dog walker finds dead baby in snow covered field near M61 as police make urgent plea
An urgent police investigation has been launched after a dog walker found the remains of a baby in a field near an M61 motorway bridge.
The unidentified woman was walking her dog near Ashtons Field, Little Hulton, at around 12.30pm today (November 20) when she found the body of who police have named Baby A. At a press conference this evening, police said it is too early to tell the baby’s ethnicity, gender and where they were from.
The force is following several lines of inquiry to understand how long they were in the field and how they died. It's understood the infant's remains were found between Ashtons Field and the rear of industrial properties on Ravenscraig Road and crime scene investigators have been scouring the area for evidence.
