Horses distressed after dog tries to attack them

A dog tried to attack two horses as they rode over a Wirral car park. Police received reports of the incident, which occurred at around 8.50am yesterday, November 17 in Leasowe Bay.

It was reported a medium-sized, black and white dog had attacked the horses in Leasowe Sand Dunes and Gunsite car park. The dog, which was wearing a red harness, was not on its lead at the time.

A Merseyside police spokesman said: "At around 5.15pm, a report was received that at 8.50am in Leasowe Sand Dunes and Gunsite car park, Leasowe Bay, two horses were attacked by a dog off its lead, causing distress to both horses and their riders but thankfully no injuries.

"The dog was described as medium sized, black and white with a red harness. The owner was described as a short woman with round glasses, wearing dark clothing and carrying a black and orange bag."
