A murder probe has been launched after a man was found dead at a house in west London.

Police rushed to the scene in Haslemere Avenue in Hounslow just before 11am on Sunday.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene at 11.20am and detectives have since launched an investigation.

It is the fourth murder probe to be launched in the capital this week.

A man, 24, has been arrested on suspicion of murder after the body was discovered at the residential address.

And a 19-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender in connection to the investigation.

No further details about the man or how he died have yet been released by police.

Officers said he was discovered at a multi-occupancy residential address.

In statement, Scotland Yard said: “A post-mortem examination will be held in due course.

“Detectives from the Homicide and Major Crime Command are investigating.”

It comes after a young man had died and another is in a serious condition in hospital after they were shot and stabbed in the street in another incident in Enfield on Saturday.

A 14-year-old was left with “life-changing injuries” after a shooting outside Seven Sisters on Tuesday.

And on Wednesday night an 18-year-old man was chased down and stabbed in Chadwell Heath, becoming the seventh teen stabbed to death in the capital this year.

On the same evening, but in a separate incident, a 20-year-old man was shot dead in Walthamstow.
