Hour by hour guide to Teesside's weather as temperatures set to feel like -5C

It's time to dig out the electric blankets, hot water bottles and fleeces - as Teesside prepares for a cold night.

The Met Office, which has issued a Yellow warning for snow and ice for our patch, predicts that thermometers will fall to freezing by 8pm tonight, Tuesday, November 19, but feeling more like -4C and then later, -5C.

The forecasters have been expecting a layering of the white stuff since the weekend - with not a flake yet fallen on Teesside. However, the experts believe Tuesday evening, overnight into Wednesday morning, is when we could expect some snow and/or ice to form.

A Yellow alert covers most of the North East, including Middlesbrough, Stockton, Redcar and Cleveland, Hartlepool and Darlington - and it's in place from 6pm Tuesday to midday on Wednesday. It warns members of the public and motorists of snow and ice potentially causing difficult travelling conditions.

• 1pm to 2pm: 4C, feeling like -1C, bright skies littered with some cloud, and 12mph winds.

• 3pm to 4pm: 2C, feeling like -2C, clear skies and 11mph winds.

• 4pm to 5pm: 1C, feeling like -3, clear skies and 10mph winds.
