Hour-by-hour weather forecast as yellow weather warning in place

Liverpool is set to be battered by heavy rain on Sunday as a yellow weather warning has been issued.

The Met Office's yellow weather warning predicted heavy rain across large parts of Merseyside. The warning was issued from 4am on Sunday, July 7 to 10am the same day with 30 to 40mm of rain forecast in places.

The warning covers Liverpool Bay but doesn't extend as far as Southport and just misses parts of south Wirral. The Met Office said we can expect many scattered showers developing across the region with some of them heavy and potentially thundery.

However, there will be some sunny spells in the afternoon, even if temperatures are slightly below average for July. Maximum temperatures are expected to hit 17 °C today. Here is the hour-by-hour forecast for Liverpool today as a yellow weather warning for rain is issued.

Tonight, Met Office forecasters said we can expect some sunny spells to end the weekend as showers ease. It is expected to be dry overnight with largely clear skies and odd short-lived fog patches. However it is likely to be a chilly night for July, particularly in rural areas. Minimum temperature will reach 7 °C.

A bright start to the new week with some pleasant sunny spells and light winds. Though there are also some sharp showers bubbling up - primarily across Cumbria. Maximum temperature 20 °C.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday

Cool, breezy, and unsettled throughout Tuesday and Wednesday with outbreaks of rain and showers. Becoming drier on Thursday and feeling a touch warmer owing to more sunny spells.
