All 38 gritters are also out across Staffordshire overnight.

A Staffordshire County Council spokesman said: "This evening, there is a chance of sleet and snow showers but this is expected to clear after midnight. Road temperatures will drop below zero, with a risk of ice and frost. Our 38 gritters will be out again overnight treating primary and secondary routes, and re-treating primary routes as needed to ensure roads remain safe. Please take extra care while driving and allow extra time for your journeys. Stay safe, Staffordshire."
