Father and ten-year-old daughter killed in house fire in Hull
A man and his ten-year-old daughter have died in a house fire in Hull.
Emergency services were called to the house on Wensley Avenue at around 7.50am on Saturday.
Firefighters pulled the man and his daughter, who was originally believed to be eight, from the house.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene and the girl died in hospital, emergency services confirmed.
A spokesman for the Humberside Fire and Rescue Service said the two people killed in the house fire were a father and his 10-year-old daughter, who was previously believed to be eight.
“We pulled out an adult male, and what we now know is his 10-year-old daughter, and tragically both lives were lost to the fire,” he said.

Local resident Carl Goodfellow told the Hull Daily Mail that he had banged on the door of the house and shouted through the letterbox to warn the occupants about the blaze.
“It’s devastating, you just don’t expect this sort of thing, do you,” he said.
Another witness told the newspaper that three fire engines, two ambulances and four police cars had attended the scene.
Humberside Police said an investigation had been launched as emergency services work to establish the cause of the fire.
In a statement, the force said: “Humberside Fire and Rescue, ambulance and police were called at 7.50am today to reports of a fire at a house.
“Emergency services worked to extinguish the fire and get the occupants out of the building
