It was to be expected. But it hasn’t made it any less enjoyable to watch Lady Gaga kill the House of Gucci press tour with a coterie of fashion’s favourite’s brands.

Really, it’s been an A – Z of the luxury giants, and marks another chapter in Lady Gaga’s constant style evolution. Gone are the days of inflatable, metre-long spikes or slabs of meat making up her looks – with the help of stylists Tom Eerebout and Sandra Amador, she’s gone Gaga for glamour.

It all began in London on November 9 for the premiere of Ridley Scott’s new film, House of Gucci, when the singer and actress, who plays Patrizia Reggiani, wife of Maurizio Gucci in the film, was powerful in purple. Wearing a pleated gown straight straight off last month’s Gucci Love Parade runway, she served up a healthy amount of drama.

For the Milan showing, on November 13, the message was sleek and sexy. Her Versace red silk slip dress with a high slit and built in corset referenced one of Gianni Versace’s Spring 1995 gowns, worn with ruby platform heels.

And on Tuesday night it was New York’s turn to house the cast; a stellar line-up that also includes Adam Driver, Al Pacino and Salma Hayek. All arrived at the Lincoln Center in style, with their leading lady in a black velvet custom Armani gown, low cut and tied up with tulle around the neck. Understated chic looks good Lady.

But the fashion moments have not been restrained to the red carpet. Some of the best are snapped in the golden seconds Gaga is caught dashing from glitzy, revolving hotel doors to a car. In London, she wore Alexander McQueen’s slashed tailoring which came dripping in crystal embroideries, straight off the SS22 runway. Other standouts have included an oversized, metallic snake print trench from Lanvin, and the black mini dress with a sequinned, buckle trim by London’s designer of the moment David Koma, worn for The Graham Norton Show.

It’s not been as simple as swiping the ‘best dressed’ title on the press tour, though. Jared Leto has kept Gaga on her toes. Leto, who also stars in the film, has long been a face of Gucci and is closely associated with creative director Alessandro Michele. It’s partnership that has not disappointed – he has worn fantastically cut velvet suits which, in New York, was dressed up with a huge faux fur coat plucked from the AW21 collection.

The wait to November 26, when House of Gucci is released in the UK, is nearly up. But there’s plenty of time for Gaga to slot in more showstoppers before then – we’re watching.
