Houses Damaged by Uprooted Trees on Cape Breton Following Post-Tropical Cyclone Fiona

Fallen trees damaged houses in Sydney, Nova Scotia, after post-tropical storm Fiona impacted Canada’s Atlantic coast on Sunday, September 24.

The Nova Scotia Government opened shelters across the province, asked the Canadian Armed Forces to assist in clean-up and power restoration efforts, and requested federal funding to help municipalities deal with damage incurred by Fiona.

The government said winds of up to 140 km/h (87 mph) had been reported as the hurricane made landfall on Saturday, September 24.
