Houses go up in flames after firework lands in garden
Houses went up in flames after a firework landed in a garden. Emergency services were called to Crask Walk in Kirkby at around 10pm on Tuesday, November 5 following a fire.
Four fire engines were sent to the scene and when crews arrived they found a row of three terraced houses involved in a fire. All people living in the properties were outside when firefighters arrived.
At around 12.50am on Wednesday, crews pitched a nine metre ladder to the back of the property and a firefighter removed roof tiles to check temperatures of the roof space. Crews continued to remove roof tiles to the front and back of the property to monitor temperatures into the early hours.

After a full investigation, Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service found the cause of the fire was "accidental ignition due to a lit firework coming into contact with combustible materials in the garden". Firefighters left the scene just after 2.30am.
Videos of the scene sent by an eyewitness showed plumes of smoke coming from the back of the houses. Neighbours could be seen watching the incident unfold and firefighters tackling the blaze. A cordon was also in place as emergency services dealt with the incident.
