Houses Gutted by Flames in Flood-Hit Belgian Town

Dramatic video recorded by a drone in the flood-hit Liege suburb of Vaux-Sous-Chevremont showed several houses there being gutted by flames even as they stood surrounded by floodwater, on July 15.

The combined death toll from severe flooding in western Europe was nearing 100 by July 16, with more than 1,000 people still unaccounted for in Germany, Die Welt said.

At least 14 deaths were confirmed in Belgium.
