Officers from the Huddersfield and Dewsbury town centre proactive teams stepped up patrols in town centres last week as part of a national week of action to reduce anti-social behaviour.
In Dewsbury, officers conducted patrols in the town centre and in the bus station on Thursday to reassure travellers.
Other activity during the week including a number of high visibility patrols in town centres, stop searches for drugs, and the arrest of a man on Byram Street, Huddersfield, for an offence of outraging public decency.
Proactive operations in Huddersfield bus station were conducted with the support of Huddersfield BID (Business Improvement District).
Inspector Mark Pattinson, who manages the town centre teams, said: "Earlier this year we announced that policing would be stepped up at Huddersfield Bus Station in response to concern regarding anti-social offending there.
"Officers have since conducted multiple high visibility and plain clothes operations there, such as last week’s deployments which resulted in a number of arrests.
"We are continuing to take long term action such as obtaining Criminal Behaviour Orders to help us better manage repeat anti social behaviour offenders. Indeed, one of the males arrested on Friday was arrested for being in breach of his CBO by being there, and has now been charged."
He added: "Reducing anti-social behaviour in Huddersfield and Dewsbury remains a key focus for both teams and we continue to appeal for information from residents and retailers about incidents and known offenders.
"Much more work is being planned in the run up to Christmas to keep up the pressure on those involved in anti social behaviour and other criminality in both the day time and evening economies."
