Huddersfield busker handed a potato has a message for people who think he is homeless and hungry
A Huddersfield busker has spoken about how working as a street entertainer helps to build confidence.
Samuel Artus, a guitarist and singer who writes his own music, has been busking on the streets of Huddersfield town centre for around two months. In recent weeks he has been raising money to help a homeless friend get back on his feet.
Originally from Mirfield, Samuel says life as a street busker has its up and downs, and there have been one or two misunderstandings along the way. Sometimes people think he's hungry and homeless when that isn't the case.

He was recently handed a baked potato by one well-meaning woman who Samuel believes mistook him for a homeless or hungry person. "Some people think you are begging," he told Yorkshire Live from his pitch in an underpass near to the Springwood car park, Huddersfield.
He's been handed bread and a jacket potato in the past and says: "I was polite and said thank you. Some people think you are hungry and homeless."
Samuel says he's not busking to raise money for himself, but to help others, including a friend who has found himself homeless. He has also bought some Santa and reindeer hats and says these will be handed out to children over the festive period.
"I am not doing it (busking) for money....people do think you are a beggar. We are entertaining people. I am just building my confidence and entertaining."
Samuel says his aim over the coming months is to continue writing his own songs and to get some gigs, starting with 'open mic' nights in pubs.
"I want to build confidence, write my own songs and do some proper gigs. And give the busker money to others."
