A struggling mum-of-two has found herself in financial crisis after her husband had a stoke earlier this year leaving her as the sole provider for their young family.

Despite her best efforts and working two jobs, along with being the main carer for her husband and their two children, the mum has inevitably found herself "falling short this month".

Unsure of where to turn but worried about running out of food for her family, she reached out to local community hero Tanisha Bramwell who stepped in to help.

Thankfully, the team at Bramwell's CIC Food Bank were able to help the family out by providing two weeks worth of free food.

Taking to her Instagram page Tanisha penned: "This morning I’m visiting a local family, dad is disabled after a stroke early this year. Mum is juggling two jobs and helping care for her husband whilst being the main provider for two children. They’ve requested food after falling short this month. They’re receiving two weeks worth of free food today."

The post was quickly flooded with comments as the local community praised Tanisha and her team for providing the family with support during this difficult time.

Chris Shorten wrote: "Hope this family get out of the situation soon. Well done team Tanisha."

Jacquie Gardner said: "Thank you to you and your team for helping this family" and Vicky Wood posted: "Thank you so much for helping this family. Should be far more support for family in situations like this."

Whil Dawn Reader responded: "This is so sad that people work so hard and still cant make ends meet, it's so hard out there" and Lisa Sweeney added: "Tanisha and team well done, keep up absolutely amazing work. Sending positive thoughts to you all."

Tanisha Bramwell told Yorkshire Live: "National and local negligence have played a significant role in perpetuating this plight, turning a blind eye to the struggles of those on the margins. It falls upon us, as a society, to confront this harsh reality, to stand up for those in need, and to ensure that no one has to go to bed hungry in a world of plenty."
