Huddersfield town centre van crash leaves pedestrian seriously injured
A man has been rushed to hospital following a collision in Huddersfield town centre.
West Yorkshire Police taped off part of Kirkgate today (Wednesday, September 25), near to McDonald's following reports a man had been knocked down by a van.
Paramedics provided assistance at the scene before the man, a pedestrian, was taken to hospital with a serious head injury.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesman confirmed the incident appeared to involve an elderly male pedestrian and a van, and happened just before noon on Wednesday
The man was taken to hospital with a serious head injury. The incident led to congestion in the area around Kirkgate and John William Street, with bus services also affected.
Several police vehicles along with ambulances attended the scene.
A Yorkshire Ambulance Service spokesman said: "We received an emergency call at 11.51 today to reports of a road traffic collision involving a pedestrian on Kirkgate in Huddersfield.
"One ambulance, a team leader and a critical care paramedic were dispatched to the scene, and one patient was conveyed to Leeds General Infirmary."
