Police have sealed off part of a main road in Nuneaton amid a major 999 response to an incident. Patrol cars are on guard on a section of Heath End Road.

Fire engines and ambulances are also at the scene this evening (September 28). An air ambulance flew low over houses around the Raywoods estate before landing nearby.

Police have confirmed in a post on social media that they are assisting Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service and West Midlands Ambulance Service at a property on the road. It appears to be a fire service led incident.

The police statement says it follows a 'concern for welfare' but no further details have been revealed. The section of road that has been closed includes where the former Just for You newsagents once stood.

Traffic is being diverted away from the area. The full police post reads: "We're currently at a house on Heath End Road in Nuneaton supporting Officialwmas and Warwickshire Fire and Rescue with a concern for welfare incident. The road is currently closed and we would advise you to avoid the area where possible at this time. Thanks for your patience."

CoventryLive has contacted Warwickshire Police for further details.
