Aviation enthusiasts are in for a treat in 2025 as Manston Airport is set to host its first air show in more than 10 years. Organisers have announced the Manston International Airshow will be taking place next August, marking the first major aviation event to be held at the airport since 2013.

Scheduled across two dates on Saturday, August 16 and Sunday, August 17, there will be plenty of aerial excitement for guests to look forward to at the airport in Thanet. Event organisers took to Facebook to say: “We are thrilled to have you on board and to be able to start sharing with you what will be a spectacular event for Kent.

"A show that we have been working on as a team since August and are delighted to confirm as a date for the diary.” A dedicated website for the event is due to go live in the coming weeks, which will have full details on ticket booking and exhibitor forms.

Full details on the air and ground attractions are also set to be announced in the lead up to the event. With the event already having garnered a great deal of interest from the community since the announcement, the first act for the air show has also been confirmed.

The Belgium-based Bronco Demo Team featuring the North American OV-10 Bronco will take to the skies to wow audiences with an impressive aerial display. Organisers finished by saying: “Our sincere thanks must be extended to RiverOak Strategic Partners and Visit Thanet for their support in us being able to launch such an incredibly high-profile show in the Garden of England.”

Manston Airport closed back in April 2014 when its last scheduled flight departed for Amsterdam - with 144 people losing their jobs. A decade on since the closure, Manston is set to see life once again as an air freight hub for cargo flights in 2025.
