Huge Clifton police cordon in residential street as officers deal with incident
A stretch of a residential road in Nottingham has been taped off by police after an incident. A manned cordon is in place on Whitegate Vale, in Clifton, between Burtness Road and Waterdown Road.
Eyewitnesses say that police have been in the area since 5.30pm on Thursday, November 14. But they remained in the area, with a van and a car visible, at noon on Friday, November 15.
Photographs from the scene also show an officer standing in the middle of the cordon. Officers reportedly carried out door-to-door enquiries but witnesses said they would not tell those who asked what was going on and the reason for the cordon remains unknown.
Nottinghamshire Police have been contacted for more information. Whitegate Vale is a residential crescent which leads between Green Lane and Southchurch Drive.
A police van is parked on one side of the cordon and a police officer is at the scene on the other side. We will bring you more information as soon as we get it.
