Huge fire rips through Scots home as emergency services race to scene

A horror fire ripped through a home in Kinross sparking a major emergency service response.

Fire crews were called to Wester Loan in Milnathort after the alarm was raised at around 12.30am on Saturday.

Shocking footage taken by a local shows the semi-detached residential property engulfed by the inferno. Huge flames can be seen tearing through the window of the first floor.

It is understood the residents of the home were all accounted for but it's unclear at this stage if any were injured.

Firefighters battled the blaze for over four hours before leaving the scene.

A probe is underway to determine the cause of the fire.

A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: "We were called at 12.32am and mobilised six appliances, including our height appliance from Perth. Crews from Lochgelly, Auchtermuchty and Kinross also attended.

"They used two main jets, two hose reel jets and six breathing apparatus. All persons were accounted for and crews left the scene at 4.25am."

Police Scotland have been asked for comment.
