They might not be there just yet, but plans are already afoot for a huge Newcastle United fan zone in the city, should Eddie Howe's men make the Carabao Cup final.

The Magpies upset the odds to stun Arsenal and leave the Emirates with a 2-0 win earlier this month, thanks to goals from prolific striker Alexander Isak and Anthony Gordon, meaning they have a crucial advantage going into the semi final second leg at St James' Park in February, as fans dare to dream about another trip to Wembley.

It's been two years since NUFC were last at the famous ground in the Carabao Cup, with the stadium full of black and white flags, as the Geordie faithful cheered on their team and put on a real show for TV cameras. Sadly, the result didn't go their way in February 2023, with them losing 2-0 to Manchester United, but now they are just one game away from being back at Wembley and having another shot at the trophy.

Their first leg win against Arsenal in London came in the middle of a superb unbeaten run, which lifted them into the top five of the Premier League table. While that has now come to an end, after a 4-1 thrashing by Bournemouth last weekend, United have the upper hand going into the second leg of the semi on home turf.

And, while not wanting to tempt fate, Central Park have now teased that they are planning a huge Fan Zone for the cup final in the heart of the city centre. The place famous for attracting loads of football fans for events like the World Cup and Euros, Central Park put out a post on Instagram on Thursday afternoon, which read: 'TELL ME MA, ME MA…”Just under 2 weeks to go ‘til we see if Newcastle reach The EFL Carabao Cup final! Fancy watching the action surrounded by 3000 fellow doting fans in the heart of the toon? More info coming soon…"

Some United fans are already sure of a spot in the final, with one taking to X to write: "We’re all going to Wembley" as a second posted: "Newcastle may not get a better chance of winning a trophy than this for years"
