Huge tanker seen off Kent importing gas into the UK amid shortage crisis

Huge gas ship 'RIAS BAIXAS KNUTSEN' was seen arriving off Sheerness, Kent this morning (September 21) bringing a cargo of gas into the UK. The gas is stored in a special liquefied form inside the ship's hull for safe transport known as LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas). After passing the Port of Sheerness shown in the footage, the cargo will be imported into the National Grid's 'Grain LNG' facility located on the Isle of Grain and situated opposite the Port of Sheerness in Kent. Wholesale gas prices have surged by up to 250% this year.
