The family of actress Chanel Maya Banks, known for her roles in Gossip Girl and Blue Bloods, are frantically searching for her following her mysterious disappearance in Los Angeles two weeks ago. The 36 year old actress was last in contact on October 30, when she sent a text message to her cousin, Danielle-Tori Singh.

Danielle is now working closely with the police and leading a fundraising campaign to try and find Chanel. Chanel's family, including her mother Judy Singh and cousin Danielle, have travelled to Southern California to assist in the search.

This comes after her husband allegedly told them 'she does not want to be found', and has been removing missing person posters. Before her sudden disappearance, Chanel had been residing in an apartment in Playa Vista with her husband of one year. Her family members abruptly lost contact with her.

Upon visiting her apartment, they found that all of Banks' possessions were still there, including her 'emotional support' dog and car. However, her phone and laptop were missing.

Concern quickly grew among her loved ones after not hearing from Chanel for several days, as the actress was usually in regular contact. Speaking to ABC7 News, Danielle said: "Five days without hearing from my cousin is red flags and alarm bells.

"She doesn't go more than 48 hours without speaking to me or her mom... That girl is more like a big sister to me."

She revealed that she last heard from her cousin via text on October 30, and saw her on FaceTime on October 27. Singh has been distributing flyers in her cousin's neighbourhood.

KTLA 5 reported that the police are assisting with the case and have conducted four welfare checks this month alone. Banks was not home during any of these visits, they revealed.

Upon entering the house, the family found the dog. Danielle noted that this was unusual as her cousin 'does not go anywhere without her dog'. She added: "That dog is by her side for emotional support."

Banks tied the knot with her husband last November and posted a video of the day on her primary TikTok account at the time. Her last activity on the social media platform was in September.

Danielle informed ABC7 News that Chanel has recently been shifting away from her acting career to concentrate on writing. She said: "I can tell you in my soul, in my gut, something is not right...We're crossing two weeks now without a word, without a sound. Nothing."

In addition to Gossip Girl, Chanel - who also uses the name Chanel Farrell - is recognised for her roles in the series Blue Bloods, Suits, and the film, Twelve. Danielle revealed to KTLA 5: "The last text we got from her before her phone went off the grid was Oct. 30. I'm not going to leave California until I find my cousin."

In a heartfelt message, Danielle said to Chanel: "We love you so much. We just want to know you're okay and that you're safe and that nobody did anything to you."

Banks' mother, Judy, requested prayers and told KTLA: "Pray for my daughter because at this point, we don't know exactly [what happened]. We are hearing stuff here and there, people saying this and that, but I know that's not my daughter."

A GoFundMe page has been set up to assist the family with expenses for a private investigator and their stay in Los Angeles.
