Huge UK TV star joins Gavin & Stacey cast on set

The Gavin & Stacey Christmas special filming is well underway here in Wales and one spot on set is sure to cause some huge excitement among UK comedy and drama fans. While location filming from the BBC show have been captured on camera by keen mega fans and press photographers, some returning and new stars of the show have been spotted down in Barry and the surrounding areas.
Fan favourite, Dave Coaches seems to be back for the first time since 2010 and you can read more about that here, but another spot from the set is a real brilliant addition to the cast.
Motherland and Line of Duty star, Anna Maxwell Martin seems to be joining James Corden et al as filming continues down in Bridgend County. Pictures of Anna, who starred with co-creator James in the Old Vic production of The Constituent over the summer, with Mathew Horne can been seen on Twitter via @camjmes0's account.

Anna is best known for her role as Julia in Motherland which ran for two series on BBC2 and as the hard faced DCS Carmichael in Line of Duty. It's not known what role she will take on in Gavin & Stacey, but she has incredible comedy chops as well as intense dramatic ones. It also marks a return for her to south Wales after she filmed Living With a Serial Killer and Hollington Drive here.
The last episode of Gavin & Stacey aired on Christmas Day, 2019, and concluded on a cliffhanger. At the end of the episode Nessa got down on one knee and proposed to Smithy. The screen cut to credits before his answer could be revealed, and now fans are desperate to know what his answer was.
