Huge Waves Hammer Puerto Vallarta Beaches as Hurricane Willa Nears

Hurricane Willa brought large waves and rain to the beaches of Puerto Vallarta, a resort town along the coast in Jalisco, Mexico, on October 22 and 23.

This footage shows a glimpse of the waves as well as some undaunted body-boarders in the water.

Puerto Vallarta News reported that the waves along the Puerto Vallarta boardwalk exceeded ten feet in height, and multiple sections of town were closed due to possible flooding.

According to reports from Mexico News Daily and NBC, Hurricane Willa is expected to produce a storm surge over west-central and southwestern Mexico, bringing winds of 162 mph in its wake. Credit: scottriek via Storyful
